A talk entitled "Maps for Local History" by Paul Hindle which looks at the availability, coverage and accuracy of county, estate, enclosure, tithe, town, transport and Ordnance Survey maps. The talk stresses the value of maps as evidence in local history studies. There is also a comprehensive bookstall at all of our meetings at Park House which has a wide selection of CD's/DVD's, microfiche and books for sale. Please feel free to come and browse. Members and non-members welcome. Free to all. |
