Hi

I am trying to findout about my 3x great gandfather Jonathon (or Johnathon) Dale. The 1861 census has his surname as Dabe not the correct transcription which is Dale. The census states he was born in 1805 in Stockport Cheshire he died in 1866.
At the time of the 1861 census he was living with his family in Burnley Lancashire. His wife was Susannah (nee Smith) and his son was Edward Dale b.1834 in Burnley.
I have no idea who Jonathon's parents were, although his mother could possibly have been called Ann. Whilst in Burnley he was employed as an umberella maker and his son Edward was a carpenter working on canal boats.
Jonathan was living in Burnley in 1841 - but if anyone knows anything about the Dale family in Stockport in the ealy 1800's I would be pleased to hear.

Thanks
